Four years until Kaveh finally broke down over a glass or two of wine and admitted that, for all of Alhaitham’s prickliness, there was no single person in the world that would ever make him feel the way Alhaitham did.
And Alhaitham had pressed him on that. ‘Feel’. ‘Feel’ what?
And Kaveh had told him. He had passionately rambled for almost an hour about how the sky was bluer when he was at his side, how challenges felt a little less daunting when he had Alhaitham as a sounding board and his support at the end of the day. How the scent of him, as faint as it was, felt like a home Kaveh had been longing for for over a decade. Every feeling was better because of him. Even the bad ones.
How could he not fall in love with someone like that?
There's a nasty virus going around that has Alhaitham and Kaveh locked inside their shared apartment. Or, they're fighting, Kaveh's heat is soon, and his luck is just terrible.
