Summary
The argument was stupid. They were always stupid, until they weren’t, until they became something real and cutthroat and capable of saying the million things they didn’t actually know how to verbalize in all the wrong ways. This one, though, came petty and swift, the kind to flair quickly and should have ended just as fast. But, of course, it happened in the middle of a roadie when they’re three out of five games in and on top of each other while sharing a tiny hotel room, because of course they shared a hotel room.
OR Ilya stormed out for a cigarette after they get into an argument on their first roadie after Shane becomes a Centaurs. Cue Coach Wiebe marriage advice and one husband coming find the other. -

Summary
After playing and winning his first game against the Montreal Metros since joining the Centaurs, Hockey God Shane Hollander, who should be fucking ecstatic over the win over showing his old team exactly where they stand without him, showered so long his team starts looking towards Ilya in question. Showered so long his team trickled out to celebrate without him, at Ilya's encouragement. Showered so long his skin's beet red and close to blistering under the heat, and everything's pruning and somehow he still doesn't feel clean.
Ilya's kneeling to meet him knee for knee, never once judging the adrenaline crash or ugle sobs or half mumble self deprecating nonsense because it wasn't the time for it. No, it's time for Hockey God Shane Hollander to fall apart in his husband's arm.
OR a character study of Shane's thoughts after his first game against the Montreal Metros once he becomes a centaur.
