    Nautically: The board is the sides or the decking of a ship. ‘By the board’ means an object going over the ship's side.
    Unwanted Items which ‘go by the board’ could also be labeled jetsam, but for this fic it’s the Prince Zuko treatment.

    Because it just so happens that Ozai wants his firstborn to go by the board.
