Summary
Sansa finds it difficult to look at Jon’s face, with its weathered lines and cragginess. It is the face of the North and a face that northerners trust; the face of Sansa’s brothers and her father, who had been loved and respected by their tenants as their forefathers had been when they were kings. How can Sansa feel anything but resentment, looking into that face and knowing that all of her years of hard work will never earn her the respect that that profile engenders within seconds?
But she does. It is a small, burning coal of something that must be smothered.

Her brother had been mostly absent in her life – so much so that she would regularly, genuinely forget him – and yet he always seemed to know where she was. Every dozen years or so, the occasional letter or postcard would find its way into her belongings. Oh, not in anything so mundane as a postbox or on her doorstep. No, she would open a book one day and there would be a print of Brighton Beach and her brother’s near-illegible scrawl. It was never anything particularly erudite. He sighs from where he’s prone, arms akimbo, and roof gravel digging into his spine. “I lost my job. My… other job. The one that actually pays the bills.”
He doesn’t want to dwell on why he’s telling Deadpool of all people. Surely it has nothing to do with his desperate lack of friends. MJ is in California chasing her dreams, Harry’s undergoing treatment for his mental health and isn’t allowed visitors (not that it matters since they blacklisted Peter after last time), and Gwen… Well.
And it’s not like he can talk to Aunt May without her worrying about him starving to death under a bridge or something so… Deadpool it is. Man, when did his life get this pathetic?
OR: The one where Peter and Wade are literal soulmates but don't realize it for literal years because they're literal idiots.

Summary
Appearances mean a lot in the cape world, and even more outside of it. Dick's always been the pretty one, and when an injury to his face disrupts that, it leaves him with time— too much time— to think.
OR: The BatFamily is a big dysfunctional mess, and sometimes Dick feels like the worst of them all.
NOTE 11/27/2025: I have not abandoned Glass. I had a spine injury and am recovering slowly. I think about this series every day.
