Summary
Picture it: Gen’s minding his own business, like he always does. He knew attending university as a celebrity mentalist would have its drawbacks, but he’s found this perfect little corner in a portion of the library that has been cleared out by the bitter stench of what some might have the audacity to call coffee.
So, why does a mysterious coffee scientist have to show up and ruin it all?

Summary
“Another question for you, Senkuu-chan,” Gen says, still smiling but it’s happier now. Mirthful. “What would you do if I kissed you? Right now?”
Ah, Senkuu thinks then, I guess Tsukasa and Gen aren’t dating.
He considers his response, as well as this new piece of information.
He goes for the honest answer: “Die. Because you have a bit of peanut sauce on your lips from dinner, and I’m allergic to that shit. It’d cause quite the scandal if you murdered some poor, innocent high school student.”
Gen licks his lips. "Noted."
In which it's 2019 AD, and lately, strangers have been smiling at Senkuu as if he’s an old friend. Alternatively—three thousand and seven hundred years’ worth of memories in the span of eight months.

Summary
His grandmother was the one who taught Gen about their connection.
Someone else might have called it magic, or a power, or a gift. But she never used any of those words. “It’s simply what we are,” she told him. “A conversation between us and the land.”
The spirits of the place - root, leaf, cloud, river, stone - spoke to them. And they could speak back, even command to a gentle extent. Gen’s grandmother could coax stubborn plants into flourishing, call a storm’s attention until it gathered overhead, or listen to the wind mutter news from distant hills. She said every human had a connection to the earth’s spirit, but most were deaf to it. Gen and his grandmother, though - theirs ran deep. Deeper than reason, deeper than blood.
--
Gen is magic. This changes everything.
