This a MAJOR AU - there is no Six, I repeat there is NO SIX. I've moved the birthdate of Billy and Daisy into the 40s and their best years hit the mid to late sixties in LA so everything changes. They are around 18/19 in 1965/66 and we are dealing with the mid to late 60s in LA as well as Vietnam
Billy and Daisy meet in much different circumstances. A story about growing up in the sixties, trying to find your way....

“I wrote you a line,” he says one night, leaning against the side of the tour bus and lifting his cigarette to his lips. Daisy stares down at her own, clipped between her fingers to avoid looking too closely at his mouth.
She knows Billy noticed how unmoored she’d become, because the shithead notices everything these days from how she takes her coffee to when she forgets to replace the toilet paper roll. She thinks he was waiting, waiting until she wasn’t so adrift to ask her to make something with him again. It’s considerate, but annoys her on principal.
Still. He wrote her a line. Daisy considers this with a small smile.
OR: Daisy and Billy start writing about politics and get a little off track.

The melodies floating in the air, teasing him like a half-remembered dream that he can't quite grasp. What he hears most clearly are the screams from the crowd as each song comes to an end, a muffled roar that rolls over him like a far-off thunder.
