He steps through the doorway- and something finds him.
A single. Sharp sting on the side of his neck. He slaps at it on instinct, feels a crunch. He looks down.
A spider. Thin legged, silver, already curling in on itself.
The pain spikes fast and deep- white hot and coiling.
Regulus grips the wall. No one notices.
Dorcas is still talking, Evan’s pretending not to listen and the teacher’s distracted by a phone call.
Regulus swallows the bile in his throat. His fingers already are starting to shake.

“Jason.” There it is again. Nico, saying his name like that. The same set of shivers run down his spine. Jason slowly turns around.
Nico is leaning against one of the pillars. He lifts one of his hands up, gives Jason a come hither motion, and disappears behind the corner. Jason does not follow, because he’s starting to understand what will happen if he does. He's been trained by wolves and the Roman army, self control is his strong suit. And he refuses to take advantage of Nico for the second time. No, no he wouldn’t. He’s a better person then that.
Oh. Jason was already running after him.
Or: Percy’s engagement sends Nico straight into Jason’s arms, and Jason wishes for Nico to stay there.
