Summary
Henry has lived in the winter town around Winterfell his entire life as a peaceful summer stretches long and winter becomes a distant memory. But when raiders attack his home, he finds that the life he has known is quickly spoiled by violence and blood. As war blows to the shores of Westeros and Winter once again encircles the country in her cruel hand, Henry finds he must forego the comforts of his youth and pick up the sword.
(Or alternatively: A retelling of Kingdom Come Deliverance in the setting of A Song of Ice and Fire.)

Having to crane his neck up to look at Radzig, he didn’t notice the boy standing at his side until he coughed softly. He may have been close to Hans’ age, but he looked a little scruffy. His tunic was finely stitched and his belt looked shiny, but he wore a ratty, red scarf around his neck and was goggling, wide-eyed as he swung his head around to take in the room.
He was probably stupid, Hans decided.

The physician called it a low fever, nothing uncommon, and advised plenty of rest, warmth, and light broths. Healthy men often took a fever alongside a cough, he explained; the body simply worked to restore its balance by burning the illness out rather than letting it linger.
Henry believed it. Hans wanted to.
But some winters ask more than endurance—and some nights demand more than faith.

Summary
After the massacre at the gorge leading to the Nebakov fortress, certain events transpire differently: one, Godwin doesn't get to Henry and Hans on time. Žižka imprisons the young lord of Pirkstein and his faithful squire for a longer time, called away to quell new arising issues... And then, he discovers Toth's agenda, and throws him into the jail as well. Erik soon follows.
And as the fates are whores with a wicked sense of humour: they get separated. Henry lands locked in the cell with István—and Capon's stuck with Erik.
Dirty games play out, and cruelty flows free like blood.
