Summary
Mike Wheeler's life is overall going in a never-ending downwards slippery slope that's impossible to climb. He can hardly afford his extortionate bills, and is constantly working overtime as a barista at a job where he's yelled at by customers who you'd think had never been a customer before.
That is, until a gorgeous stranger walks into the coffee shop, and makes Mike's stomach flutter. That gorgeous stranger Mike finds to be Will Byers, a close friend of his coworker's boyfriend who works at a florist's across the street. How Mike will tackle these unfamiliar feelings however, he isn't sure.

Summary
Mike Wheeler has trained for nearly his whole life to become a Knight, like his father, and his father, and his father before him. Will Byers is the next in line to become Head Cleric of Hawkins, mentored since the age of twelve to control his abnormally strong innate source of magic. They have been best friends since as long as either of them could remember, and when Will is pushed into getting a personal guard, naturally, Will chooses Mike. However, not even a day after Mike has been appointed Will's sworn protector, this is already put to the test, when their party is given a mission to ally the other Kingdoms, when the beast that took Will nearly a decade ago shows signs of awakening again. Will's enduring feelings for Mike are his strength, yet they could also be his downfall. But will Mike ever reciprocate them? Will is doubtful, but stories can take unexpected twists.
