When Marinette finds out that Adrien is Chat, she can't help but calm down around him. He's her goofy, dorky partner, after all. And if he is touch deprived and lonely, well, she better do what she can to fix that, right? Even if it means putting her feelings on the back burner while she helps him find himself.
Also: I started to write this before I saw any of season two, so although I may mention things that are revealed in season two, the beginning chapters especially may not be 100% S2-cannon compliant.

But as careful as someone might be, there were always tiny details that escaped from their control, and someone who knew them as well as their partner were sure to pick up someday.

Ah! fake dating to cover up a lie. Both know that the other is lying but neither know each other's identity so things start to get complicated, and confusing. And when you think it can't get any worse, it does. I definitely recommend reading this amazing story.

Marinette traced her fingers down the smooth lines of the magazine, a blush creeping to her face. It wasn’t just his toned, muscular body that set her aflame, although that was certainly a bonus. It was his eyes. The way his body appeared, languid like a summers day. His body said relax but his eyes said devour. From the pages of the advertisement, Adrien smouldered in a way that he’d never done during any of his other numerous photographs, and yet she was struck with a familiarity that made her skin tingle, made her swallow with sudden and surprising nervousness.
