“Terrible idea. Outdated, heteronormative, and boring,” Van Palmer passionately objected to her longtime girlfriend, Tai Turner’s suggestion.
“At this point…are you even complaining about the bridal shower or the wedding?” Tai asked. The question hung in the air as Van ran a hand through her long red hair, took a swig from her beer bottle, and then responded.
“You were telling me that Mrs. Taylor had called you to remind you to plan a bridal shower for Shauna because ‘it’s improper for the family of the bride or groom to throw it, as you know.’ The real question is—does Mrs. Taylor know she’s not related to either Jeff or Shauna?”
