Summary
Alexandros is back from Mieza and he is serving his time as Regent while King Philippos is away.
However, not everyone is happy about his choice as an heir, some considering him too soft, too philosophical, too eccentric, too effeminate. Voices start going around the palace and factions start forming.
Meanwhile Hephaistion is conflicted between protecting Alexandros and following their desires as lovers. In the process he finds himself allied to the last person he would’ve thought: Queen Olympias.(Sequel to "A dangerous game")

All Aegon has ever known is his mother's fear and rage, his father's cold indifference, and his grandfather's blind ambition.
