Shanks’ expression blanked, just as everyone else’s twisted in shocked fury.
“Where?” his Captain asked, voice distorted by an almost animalistic growl, and Benn could hear an undertone of fear and panic beneath the rage in his Captain's voice.
All Benn could think of when he saw his Captain's expression was one thing.
Whoever had taken Luffy was going to wish that they had never even looked in the boy's direction.

“Oh! That reminds me! SHANKS!”
Alex winces as Strawhat yells at the top of his lungs. “Anchor!” Red-Hair yells back, just as loudly and just as cheerfully. Alex blinks at the nickname.
Strawhat honest-to-god pouts. “I’m Pirate King now! You can’t keep calling me Anchor!” He whines. Red-Hair just laughs and walks over.
“You still can’t swim! That makes you an anchor in my mind.” Strawhat pouts more, and Red-Hair reaches over to ruffle Strawhat’s hair. There’s a sense of affection in the gesture. Alex blinks, and shakes themself from their nerves. They have a job to do.
“So you two know each other?” They ask. Red-Hair and Strawhat both turn to look at Alex, tilting their heads identically.
“Who are you?”

Someone yells something about a battleship being commandeered, then, and Ace veers over towards it, absently grabbing Luffy’s arm and directing him towards the ship. He keeps running, sending fire every which way, forcing his tears and emotion down, but…
He doesn’t notice Luffy falling behind slightly.
And then-
Luffy stumbles and falls.
And doesn’t get up.
“Shi- Luffy!” Ace curses, hurriedly sending a wave of fire towards those in front of him and sprinting back to Luffy.
