Summary
Being an ex-nation isn't exactly doing wonders for Gilbert's mental health. His current coping mechanisms consist of drinking too much beer and making terrible life decisions, which is how he ends up drunk on Romano's doorstep in Rome.
Romano has absolutely no idea why he's there. Gilbert doesn't know either.Somehow, against all odds, one terrible first impression becomes the start of a strange (kinda gay) friendship that forces them both to confront the parts of themselves they've spent years trying to ignore.

Lovino Di Vargas has devoted his life as a novice to nothing more than singing for God, caring for his brother Feliciano, and keeping a dying German boy alive, all while secretly praying for the salvation of his soul — victim of a unspeakable affection reserved for the most promising novice at the monastery: Gilbert Beilschmidt.
He didn’t meant to taint him any more than necessary; nonetheless, that is exactly what he did. He allowed something beyond the Lord’s control to enter “Gilbert's” heart, and the worst part is that he no longer knows if he should truly repent for that sin.

So, a question floats by: What becomes of them when these unique stories all intertwine? After everything they've gone through, will they able to hold down friendships? Will something else bloom? Will the loose and frayed ends finally be knotted together?
