"I was talking to Darcy and Tara,” Elle started and somehow Charlie knew exactly where this was going. He should have seen it coming if he was being honest with himself.
“Invite him,” Charlie huffed. “It’s fine. Just do it, I know that’s what you’re asking. Although, I'm not even sure Tao would want you to.”
“It’s not really inviting him, it’s just Tara can’t make it to the wedding, she’s got a performance. Darcy wanted to make sure it was okay that Nick was her date.”
The sound of Nick’s name made Charlie flinch a little. He could still picture the man, blonde hair, brown eyes, freckles, and of course, his glorious, wonderful arms. Nick was permanently ingrained into his brain, now and forever more. It hadn’t mattered that Charlie hadn’t laid eyes on him in person for 8 years now. Nick Nelson was unforgettable.
Also a fucking asshole.
But an unforgettable one.

Summary
Charlie was aware of Nick Nelson, you couldn’t be a Truham student without hearing the name in the hallway, but so far Charlie had avoided any direct run-ins with the so-called “Rugby King.” Charlie tried to avoid the “sporty boys” as much as possible. They were obnoxious enough just knowing that Charlie was a band geek and a book nerd but he lived in fear of them finding out he was also gay. The thought gnawed at his insides constantly.
