Summary
When Derek looks back now then he sees Stiles lying in their bed in their house. His sleeping face free from all the pain he had to go through, from all the troubles still keeping him awake most nights. Derek could watch Stiles for hours, because no matter how long they've been together, he will probably never be able to believe that he gets to keep this forever.
Stiles is 25 now and Derek 32. Derek will never stop waiting for the moment that Stiles realizes he doesn't want or need someone this old as a partner. He's still so young and could have anyone. Stiles rolled his eyes at Derek once when he told him that, it was followed by a couch pillow hitting him in the face. Stiles was never one for cheesy lines (he always said so himself), but sometimes he'd say stuff like he did that time.
'I don't want anyone else. And if I have to prove it till I die, then I will.'

Omega college student Tobio Kageyama needs an Alpha.
He'd rather not need anyone at all. But if he doesn't want his rich parents to cut him off, he has to bring an Alpha to the family gala.
Enter Shouyou Hinata, his annoying teammate.
“Why not, um, me?”
Tobio frowned in confusion. “Why not you what?”
Hinata rolled his eyes. “Dummy-yama. Why not me, for your Alpha? For whatever you needed an Alpha for?”

He fidgeted with his hands, aware of how small and jittery he must seem compared to the composed, intimidating man across the table. Kageyama was exactly what he’d requested from the model agency: tall, handsome, and dark. But he hadn’t anticipated just how… scowly the model would be.
The silence between them stretched unbearably, and just as Hinata opened his mouth to try and break the tension, Kageyama’s voice cut in, as blunt as a hammer.
“I’m not having sex with you.”
The words landed like a slap, and Hinata flinched, heat rushing to his face. He couldn’t decide what was worse, the fact that he said that, or the fact that that was the first thing he said to him since sitting down.---

Kageyama honest-to-god smiled. Not just a competitive smirk or a feigned grin for a photo op-- but an open, genuine smile. Diego nearly dropped his water bottle.
And if the smile wasn’t shocking enough, Diego noticed something as Kageyama pulled off his practice shirt; a thin black cord looping around his neck, starkly contrasting against pale skin. Which was surprising enough (he didn’t peg Kageyama as the jewelry type), but what hung from the bottom of the necklace stopped Diego in his tracks.
There, dangling from the cord, light catching on its smooth surface, was a ring.
A fucking gold ring.
