Rumi sighs, about to dismiss the accident with a wave of her hand, but Zoey continues, a sly smile slipping onto her face.
“But I can’t really be blamed when you’re looking at me like that.” She winks and leans in conspiratorily. “You’re dangerously pretty, you know.”
Rumi’s brain short circuits. Heat floods her face. Somewhere behind her, she hears Jinu cackling. Zoey shoots him a glare as Rumi scrambles to form a response.
“I-uh. Um. Thank you, erm, Zoey. You-uh, aren’t too bad yourself.” Her voice rises at the end, phrasing it as a question. Jinu snorts.
Zoey tilts her head and sends Rumi a flirty smile. “High praise.”
