Summary
Bilbo and Thorin were cursed by Smaug upon recovering the Arkenstone. Bilbo sets out to break the curse at the same time that a Blacklock dwarf appears in Erebor claiming to be Thorin's Consort. With friends old and new they must return to save Erebor and remove the dragon's curse from the Arkenstone or Bilbo and Thorin will forever remain...just out of reach.

Summary
In the throes of gold sickness, Thorin threw Bilbo from the ramparts. He came to his senses as soon as the hobbit's body hit the ground. By that point though, it was too late. Heartbroken and filled with guilt, he and the company join the Battle of the Five Armies.
After being slain in battle, Thorin woke up to an offer from Yavanna herself to go back, protect Bilbo, and not fall to the greed and madness of the Line of Durin. Only then would he be able to join the halls of his maker and find peace.

“Which could have gotten him killed, which almost did if I wasn’t there in time.”
Diluc knows. He knows it’s too late for him to take everything back. He knows and he regrets it. He regrets that it is too late.
