Summary
She arrives in Sandrock with a background in recovered media, a lifetime of cultural references that no longer apply, and the unsettling disadvantage of knowing exactly where she is and what is supposed to happen next.
She is not the Builder so she can't possibly be the hero, at least not in any way the story recognizes.
Instead, she survives by noticing patterns, asking the wrong questions, and slowly realizing that foreknowledge is not the same thing as control.
The problem is that Sandrock notices her back.

The Course of True Love is an ensemble story.
At its heart are Lucy, Logan, Andy, Nia, and Qi; but in Sandrock, no one exists in isolation. Every character matters. Every character gets their moment. Because there are many kinds of true love, and this story is interested in all of them.
There’s the true love of the best friend you’ve had since preschool.
The true love of a family forged through trial, loss, and stubborn devotion.
The true love that happens when someone sees you clearly: and helps you step out of the box you built to survive.
There’s the true love of community, of service, of finding where you belong and choosing to stay.
And yes—there is even the true love of a man for his rock.This story has been described as tear-inducing in both laughter and romance.
If you’re looking for a safe place to land; where everyone is treated with dignity, where growth is earned, and where every character is promised a happy ending, come spend a little more time in Sandrock with the people we already care so much for.
That, too, is a kind of true love.
