Summary
Hi. The story follows our builder, Charlie. A tragedy upended her charmed life, and she suffered a great loss. In her quest to find answers and serve justice, she found herself at Sandrock’s doorstep. A town plagued by a myriad of misfortunes from destructive sandstorms, water shortages, a declining population, monsters, and bandits. Weaving through the various complications of surviving in the harsh environment and the insurmountable demands of the job, she kept her eye on the prize, to bring those responsible to justice; however, the revelations seem to fuel more skepticism. Amidst the confounding evidence, she is left to wonder about her own motives, unveiling the truth or exacting revenge.
How much of herself was she willing to lose to satiate her quest to uncover answers?
She is flawed, straightforward, tactless, foul-mouthed, unapologetic, and some call princess. An enigma draped in armor and armed with a pickaxe.
The story follows the timeline of the main story of MTaS, with which I took the creative license to serve the plot.

Notes: This was originally a one-shot that turned into a multi-chapter fic. It starts with an alternative version of The Kidnapping quest. It follows the main game but takes a lot of twists and turns! NSFW chapters are marked accordingly as well!

Lucy opens up to Logan and Nia reveals some surprising information about the town.This is a complete AU. It does not follow the game storyline at all. Howlett is alive, Haru and Logan are full brothers, and there is no Grace, no Miguel and no Andy.
The tags are incomplete to avoid spoilers. This story is closed door but some of the themes are pitch black. This is your warning: It gets dark and it gets violent, but at the end of the day it is a hopeful story of self-discovery and redemption.

Logan isn't sure where Pen's new Enforcer (friend) came from, or why the two seem so united in saving Martle's Oasis. Surely this strange second soulmark has nothing to do with it.

As a child, Duvos overran and overtook Eden's village in the borderlands between the Free Cities and the Empire. Her family settled in Highwind as refugees. As an adult, Eden tries to escape the haunted parts of her history by moving to the middle of nowhere where no one knows her, with a new career. If only Logan wasn’t primed to drag her back into the middle of everything.
It's not canon compliant, but it is grounded in canon. Follows the main story, with minor timeline changes and additions for the sake of artistic vibes. A lot of the whimsy has been toned down. I love the whimsy in the game, but I had 500+ hours in My Time At Portia and feel personally victimized by Duvosian shenanigans, and that definitely influenced how I experienced the game and this builder. Following someone who had a previous interaction with Duvos, and all the consequences of that, didn't lend itself to a story cohesive with the whimsy. Mainly the moles and whole rodent monarchy have been eliminated.

A scrappy ex-spy and (incidental) traitor to her country, Duvos, who's got nothing to lose and everything to gain by taking on the abandoned role of Builder that this dilapidated town so desperately needs... After all, Ink and Sandrock are both shells of their former glory, hanging on by tenuous threads. Maybe those threads will snap under the weight of betrayal and fear, or maybe Ink can find it in herself to fully step into the Light and bring hope to an otherwise hopeless place that changes the tides of fate- hers, and Sandrock's both.

Summary

Nearly two years after the Duvos invasion of Sandrock, Max and Logan are married and happily living out their quiet, peaceful life together. Quiet and peaceful by their standards, that is. Until one day, a mysterious woman shows up at the couple's door, begging for Logan's help slaying an incredibly dangerous monster near the Peripheries. Logan insists Max stay behind to keep a watchful eye on Sandrock, leaving Max with nothing to do other than wait for his triumphant return. But Max can't shake this feeling that despite all of the hardship he'd been through so far, the worst was still on its way.
Being a great builder means being prepared for anything, but nothing could have prepared him for what's to come.
