A true ensemble story that is funny, romantic, full of heart and a little sexy. The story is canon compliant(ish), mostly in the fact that I try to stay very true to everyone's personalities and motivations, and there is often the thread of canon in-game happenings going on in the background.
However, I am deeply invested in a non-canon pairing, and most of the daily activities/relationship beats/family events of our Sandrock citizens just come straight from my pretty little head.

A town plagued by a myriad of misfortunes from destructive sandstorms, water shortages, a declining population, monsters, and bandits. Weaving through the various complications of surviving in the harsh environment and the insurmountable demands of the job, she kept her eye on the prize, to bring those responsible to justice; however, the revelations seem to fuel more skepticism. Amidst the confounding evidence, she is left to wonder about her own motives, unveiling the truth or exacting revenge.
How much of herself was she willing to lose to satiate her quest to uncover answers?
She is flawed, straightforward, tactless, foul-mouthed, unapologetic, and some call princess. An enigma draped in armor and armed with a pickaxe.
The story follows the timeline of the main story of MTaS, with which I took the creative license to serve the plot.

Summary
Lucy is ecstatic to be in Sandrock. She's been desperate for a new start. She's tired of Highwind and her overbearing parents.
There's just one small problem... she's pregnant.
Prior to arriving in Sandrock, she had a one night stand with a tall, handsome, deep-voiced stranger she met in a small town in the middle of nowhere.
Now she has to contend with integrating herself into a new community, and fulfilling its construction needs, while preparing for life as a single mother.
If only she'd learned the stranger's name.
(Although there's obvious canon divergence, the main story beats will play out as in the game.)

Struggling to raise twins, she takes a job her best friend suggests. In Sandrock, she happens to run into her so called husband and as it turns out, he owns the town's saloon. One day he's caught unaware in a sandstorm and ends up at her front gate, and Mara learns he's ill - an old world disease mutated into something unpredictable.
They struggle to reconnect, and he struggles to learn how to be a father before it's too late. Meanwhile, Mara has to learn to accept everything that's happening around her, while learning how to survive in a struggling town.
***Will be mostly centered on their relationship. Don't expect too many epic fight scenes. Also don't expect all the timelines to make sense. I went with what worked at the time.
