Saplings leave water on Tamlen's shirt, the last remnants of a rainstorm from earlier. He follows Sul'salin dutifully, watching his hair glow and darken with the patterns of the trees and moonlight. They almost have the same hair color, Sul'salin's more blonde, yellow bordering on white. His mother always says that they could be brothers, with how much they look alike, except for their eye colors. Tamlen's ice blue, and Sul'salin's unusual purple. He's overheard his mother and Ashalle say that the grey-ish purple was from his mother, but there's no way of checking. Sul'salin's mother is long gone.

Some said it was his elastic personality, snapping from stony to chipper in a second. However, the most commonly expressed opinion was about the eyes. Even with the boy's innate ability to mask everything about himself, he could never get the eyes right. Two intense amber irises that hid something darker. Always calculating with a frosty sheen despite the fiery shade. The sight of the boy was always unsettling. To Vincent, it was as hilarious. Yet achingly dull.
That is, until Gotham Academy received a new student.

A story about two broken men who happen across each other at just the right (or wrong) time in their lives. They set off on a months long roadtrip on the back of their bikes, in an attempt to save not only themselves but each other too.

On a Friday night, you and your friends make your way to the karaoke bar you frequent for some drinks and music. You stay against the wall to avoid your friends pressuring the mic into your hand, and between the flashing lights and moving bodies you continue meeting eyes with the same man you had never seen before. In every room you find him, most of the time across the room or at the bar, until halfway through the night you turn away from your friend and find him standing right next to you. There's no words exchanged, just intense eye contact, and as you smile at him he turns away from you. He's captivated you now with his guarded and mysterious aura but he escapes from every opportunity for conversation. At the end of the night, as you're leaning against the wall to steady yourself after another shot, you hear a voice in your ear and quickly turn to find him looming over you before he turns and walks up to the stage, where he meets your eyes once again before leaving the bar. At night's end, you can only remember your final glimpse of him, your need to see him again, and the nickname "Suga."
