Mike dealing with not hella obvious home issues. Like Ted and Karen having petty arguments, Ted’s small sneers at his son being gay or out of the ordinary in general. Basically just small stuff that bottles up inside of him wondering “why can’t my family just be happy” or “why can’t i man up” and at some point those thoughts just get too much to him.

Summary
Mike looks like he’s glaring ahead at something, a frown fixed on his face. It’s his permanent frown, the one that always hides behind his eyes even when he’s smiling. Max doesn’t know why she knows this, only that she feels the same way. The stupid part is that she can’t bring herself to tell him, even though she knows, and everyone knows, it’ll help them both.
Most likely he’ll shut down and become defensive anyway, and she also knows this because she would do the same.
