Link follows Zelda into a room lit by candles. “It’s raspberry season, I brought you some. I, um, hope that’s okay,” he says, finding a table to place his basket on. He takes in the paraffin candles, the gold crown on her nightstand, silk blankets on the bed—
He jerks his gaze away. He’s not going to think about that bed, and especially not about the two of them on that bed, even if he envisioned it in great detail last night. He’s going to focus on the conversation—what had they been talking about?
Zelda opens the lid of the basket. “These look delicious. Can I have one?”
Like she even has to ask. She can touch anything of his that she wants to. “Yeah, they're for you.”
Zelda pops one into her mouth, lips parting and teeth gleaming in the dim light. Link watches as she delicately licks juice from her finger. This entire evening is going to be far harder—far more challenging than he had expected.
Or, Zelda wants him, and Link struggles with his anxiety.

Summary
Link's tried to prepare for meeting Princess Zelda as much as he can, but when he meets her for the first time, he still feels like he's been hit with a tree. She seems really familiar somehow, even though he's sure he'd remember meeting her.
If Princess Zelda has met him before, she doesn't show it. She neatly stacks her papers on the table in front of her and picks up a pen. "Welcome, Link of Ordon. I'm glad to see you here, especially after the long trip you must have had." Her accent is precise and aristocratic, but her tone is friendly.
Just be a normal human. Just for a few minutes. What do normal humans say?
Link's a werewolf, Zelda's a princess - they have more in common than it first appears.

Summary
Five years post a world war, the former sailor turned alcoholic PI Link Coutts and his snarky assistant Midna Dahl are tasked by Daphnes Nohansen with finding his missing daughter Zelda, whose disappearance comes following her auction win of an eerie, talking mirror piece. The mirror's strange powers and abilities to open portals to dark realms pits the three against adversaries looking to seize the mirror for their own twisted desires.
When he’d been drafted, nobody asked him if he knew how to swim or if he was any good with machinery. Link simply had all his limbs and a heartbeat, and he could nod on command. That was good enough. And thus, he was quickly reduced, like so many other young men, to his family name and a serial number, and then told, “Congrats, you’re submarine material!”
He turns to Zelda, feeling chilled from all the sweat now. “Can you help me up?” he asks her. “I can’t get my leg unstuck.”
She squeezes his hand. “Link, you’re not stuck. You don’t have a leg to get stuck."

Summary
Things take an awful turn for Link when he stumbles upon a mysterious piece of material. It's reflective, like a mirror, but darker than any substance he's seen before. In order to rid himself of the curse, he's told to seek out an estranged priestess; a priestess that was exiled from her temple for reasons unknown to him. Zelda, however, isn't ready to face her past, and Link's arrival is little more to her than an omen. It's not like they can perform the ritual anyway--not when the sacred spring is dried up.

Summary
The Siren of Eventide Island is a legend that pirates and sailors tell each other. They say she lures sailors to their doom, and that men who follow her voice never come back.
Link’s always been fascinated by the story. He feels the pull towards her island, even though he’s never heard her song. One day he sees her through his spyglass, and the image of her silhouette in the afternoon sun is burned into his brain like a brand.
She pulls him out to sea, and he goes willingly.
.....
He walks forward, taking another step, and then another, until the blade of her knife brushes against the cloth of his shirt.
“Go ahead,” he says, lifting an eyebrow. He watches the graceful lines of her throat contract as she swallows. She looks down at the silver blade in her hands, then meets his gaze again, defiance burning behind her eyes.
“Why did you come here?”
He shrugs one shoulder.
“Curiosity.”
The word is wholly inadequate to describe the force that had drawn him here.
“You would throw your life away so easily?”
“It isn’t worth much.”
