“Sheets smell like you,” Five non sequiturs through half-lidded eyes. Then he lifts the comforter back over his head.
That literally does not answer Diego’s question at all. “Oh-kay?”

And truth be told, they were better off without him. They’d been getting on nicely in this new timeline. But Five wasn’t fit for a life of rest. When you spend your whole life running, crawling, grasping for an ultimate goal, how do you learn to stay still once you’ve achieved it? How do you learn to settle at one destination, when you’ve only ever known the travel?

After the Umbrellas and the Sparrows managed to set aside their differences and save the world, they all try to adjust to their new lives. The Hargreeves siblings have finally caught a break.
Well, except for Five, who now legally has to attend the one thing worse, in his expert opinion, than the apocalypse itself: public high school. He begrudgingly accepts this situation, and assumes it's a small price to pay for a safe and happy life in this new, perfect timeline.
