    Summary

A tear slips down his dirty temple, slides into his ear.

“I yield,” he whispers and the pain relents, if only for a moment. The sharpness of a fist is gone, the throbbing of a bleeding lip stays. Now that he remembers the words, he can’t stop saying them. “I yield, I yield–“

The weight is gone, his helmet tugged off. There are hands on his face, frantic voices above him. He can’t see anything.

    Summary

Dunk was a hedge knight who followed the laws of men; Aerion was a prince who believed he was a fire-breathing god. In a world of Alphas and Omegas, the gods have a cruel sense of humor.

"He is a monster," the world said of Aerion Brightflame.

Dunk didn't disagree, he had seen the Prince’s cruelty firsthand the shattered puppets, the manic glint in those violet eyes, the heavy kohl smudged across his pale, sharp features. Aerion was a volatile Omega who treated the world like it was his to burn.

But when a Royal Decree binds the low-born Alpha knight to the mad Prince’s side as his sworn protector, Dunk finds himself trapped in a different kind of fire. Behind the silks and the arrogance, Aerion is a storm of heat and dragon-dreams, and Dunk is the only wall strong enough to keep the Prince from destroying himself.

The Dragon wants to rule. The Knight wants to serve. And the bond between them is about to set the Seven Kingdoms ablaze.

"Resources," Aerion whispered mockingly. "The lunk thinks I need resources."

    "I’m just saying—"

"Do you know who sits on the board of the University Hospital?" he snapped, his voice rising, sharp as a whip crack. "My uncle Aerys. Do you know who funded the psychiatric wing? My father. Do you know who my primary care physician is? The former Surgeon General of Westeros."

He unbuckled his seatbelt with a violent click, turning to face Dunk, his eyes wild.

    "You think I haven't tried?!”

(In which Dunk meets a rich boy who is struggling with an eating disorder.)

    Summary

Raymun Fossoway has a loud mouth and Dunk has always prided himself on being a good listener. Most of the time, the gossip and the extensive rants are more emotional expression than useful conversation, but Dunk lends his ear regardless. After all, he could benefit from some social lessons separate from Egg’s, especially when those lessons include his squire’s older brother.

The Targaryens have long been the bridge between the gods and man, tamers and riders and kin of dragons. Now, the dragons are gone, but their blood remains in the Targaryen line—some, only a few drops. In Aerion Targaryen, a beast lurks and cannot resist the word of its master.

    Or,

Dunk hears a rumor that some of the Targaryens respond to High Valyrian commands much like the dragons did. He tests the theory on Aerion.
