Summary
After everything that happened at the ice-cream parlour, and Jasper's subsequent panic attack and spiralling, Carl is still learning how to be someone Jasper can trust. The two of them, along with Martin, have found a fragile rhythm — shared meals, awkward silences, small moments of calm — until Vic suddenly returns to Edinburgh claiming she wants to be “home more.”
Her reappearance pulls old wounds wide open. Jasper’s torn between wanting his mum back and remembering every time she left; Carl’s just trying to keep the pieces together and protect the boy who’s already been hurt enough.
