Summary
In December 2014, Hutch has been living peacefully in Duluth with his wife. He hasn't seen much of Starsky for decades and life is good. Being a cop is merely a memory now.
Three weeks ago, his wife died. She went mercifully quickly, but her death was totally out of the blue. It's shaken Hutch to his core.
Starsky appears on his doorstep all the way from his busy life in California to help him through it. Hutch is grateful to have his old-time friend with him in his time of grief, but Starsky is outstaying his welcome. Why won't he leave?
Surely, they have nothing in common anymore. Besides, in four decades, there's too much water under the bridge. Too much unsaid. Too many bad memories he'd left behind from his former life.
But being with Starsky is comfortable, familiar. It feels right. How can he kick his former lover out?This story was born out of the nearly impossible concept of, 'Would they ever leave each other? Not for a year, for five years, but for decades.'
Writing this was heartbreaking, but I had to see it through to the end.

Summary
