Summary
At eighteen years old un 1988, Gelato learned that the world is not a kind place.
Living with his abusive mother in one of Turin’s poorer neighborhoods, he spend most of his days keeping to himself. School is merely something he has to endure, while his real interests lie elsewhere: studying, observing people, practicing with knives, and wondering what makes someone worth remembering.
He never understood why society is so unfair, to him people are puzzled, and once he becomes interested, he wants to understand every part of them. But beneath his cold curiosity lies a boy struggling to live.
For now, Gelato is alone.
