Summary
“No,” Neteyam said, voice firm as stone. “A warning. Either be careful and watch your tone or I’ll make sure you catch the first flight back home.”
Ao’nung tilted his head, studying him, that cocky glint refusing to dim. Then he clicked his tongue, feigning offense. “Careful? I’m trusted here. Royal duty, family honor, all that.”

He let the silence drag for a beat, smirk curling wider. “Unless you asks.”

Neteyam didn’t look at him. “Bet it doesn’t.”
Ao’nung grinned wider, shifting just enough that his shoulder pressed against Neteyam’s. “And if it lands on me?”
Neteyam hummed under his breath, turning his head to meet Ao’nung’s eyes once more, “Then I guess the universe has jokes.”

Knock knock knock.
Neteyam stared at the door like he could will it out of existence. “No,” he whispered.
Ao’nung let his forehead fall onto Neteyam’s stomach with a groan. “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
“Neteyam! I know you’re home!” A voice rang out from behind the door — familiar, way too familiar.
Ao’nung’s eyes widened in horror. “Is that—?”
“Lo’ak,”
