The king of the Arctic leaves for an item that he claims will help their kingdom thrive. However, after he fails to show up after his promised time of return home, the three princes remember an old law set in the land for any circumstance like this.
If the King of the Arctic fails to keep any contact or sign of life for over a year, the crown falls to the next in line.
With fear of having to lead such a large kingdom, the two oldest flee from the castle; leaving behind their youngest brother to take care of it.
And fifteen years later, he is doing a much better job at it than any of those three could, thank you very much.

Tommy, the illegitimate half-brother of King Dream of Empesi, has spent the last six years hidden away in the countryside, bored out of his mind. In all those times he had longed for adventure though, he hadn’t meant he wanted a pair of Resistance assassins to show up and try to murder him over a document he can’t even read. Next thing Tommy knows, he’s waking up in the freaking Antarctic Emperor’s palace as a political hostage, and grudgingly getting to know a royal family whose magic is strangely reminiscent of his own.
