Formulas, exercises, theories, such basic, simple things that give Viktor hope that he can understand at least some part of this world. The general gas equation is a simple equation that shows how the temperature of the gas, its volume and pressure are related, and is used for the ideal gas, but it can still somewhat predict the behaviour of some real gases too. Maxwell's equations are a set of beautiful, breathtaking equations that show how magnetic and electric fields are connected within each other and how together they create an electromagnetic field. And so on and so forth. Physics can explain a lot of things.
But unfortunately, there is no equation that would explain why Jayce and Giopara did this to him and would predict all the future attempts.

"... Ah. Yes, I suppose your life is in the hands of my skills as a mathematician," Viktor grimaces, finally seeing it from Jayce’s point of view. "I don’t use generative AI, and I don't want anyone's blood on my hands so... I will quadruple-check my calculations. I'm confident, but not cocky."
"I appreciate that,” Jayce replies genuinely, smiling anxiously. “I wanna come back from Mars."
