Superman, Clark, raises an eyebrow. “I just explained that part 2 minutes ago.”

Bruce Wayne’s #1 rule when he decided to date Clark Kent was that their romantic relationship should never interfere with their in-costume work. Who knew he’d be the one to violate that rule out of them two?

___"Okay, so it’s about what I said. I’m sorry. Maybe I could have said it more nicely.” The metallic rasp of the Batman voice trying to deliver a half-ass apology is pissing Clark off.
“You meant what you said, though, didn’t you? That you don’t need me?”
“Yes.” The word is gruff.

“I know for a fact you can lock this thing. You’ve locked me out of here plenty of times.”
The wheels are turning but he’s not willing to stop them.
“But if you don’t want to that’s fine. Let’s just head back-”

Your breath hitches in your throat as every word of his sinks in. You can’t help but let out a nervous laugh. “Freddy, if I didn’t know any better I’d think you were flirting with me.”
Freddy lets out a deep chuckle. “What if I am?”
