Summary
The gods that once watched over us were killed: their shrines destroyed, their worshippers slain, and their names erased.
Deep in the heart of an ancient forest, though, there sat one last time-worn shrine of a forgotten protector goddess. She was called Mira; she was fire and war, love and life.
For centuries, Mira drifted through a dreamless slumber.
Then, one day, two brave young women full of hopes and dreams and love reawakened her. She owed them her life, and they owed her theirs. Their names were Rumi and Zoey, and they devoted themselves to Mira as deeply as they devoted themselves to each other. The goddess and her two angels fell in love and built a new world together.
But the goddess always feared the day she'd no longer be able to protect her mortal lovers from death.

She wants Mira and Zoey so badly, in whatever way, shape, or form that comes in.
For once in her life, Rumi wants to be selfish.
Or: HUNTR/X works towards sealing the Honmoon and falls in love along the way. Pre-reveal Rumi, hiding both her patterns and her wants, loves her girls in whatever way she can until she's free (whether that means shielding Mira and Zoey in fights or pretending to be something she's not). She just has to hold out until the Honmoon’s golden. Straightforward enough, right?

Would they hate her if all she left them with was a grave next to her mothers?

Rumi was never supposed to have been there.
It was her sister, with her big brain, an impressive PhD and dozens of other accolades that was supposed to have been standing here. Hana was the one that had impressed Dr. Celine Park enough to have gotten invited to this mission.
Not Rumi.
It was why everyone was surprised when Rumi had actually gotten pretty good in her avatar body. Good enough to have gotten invited into the clan by the chief’s daughter and her mated pair.

Summary
A dog waits for the hand to strike. That is the pact. The chain may chafe, the belly may hollow, but the dog waits, no matter the want. Because that is what love means. To wait for pain and call it devotion. To wait for death and call it mercy.
But Rumi did not have anyone left – no Zoey, no Mira, not even Celine. She had nothing. The leash had been loosed, the dog set free not in love, but in revulsion. In fear. In shame. And now she sat here with the bowl empty, the chain broken, nothing left to worship but the blade at her feet.
Or - The night of the Idol Awards, rewritten. A character study in Rumi as she unravels against her demons (literally), and a hell of a warped ending to the one we all love. What if Rumi thinks her greatest gift is not her voice, not her strength or her love, but her absence?
They didn't take long to get to her. Only minutes, really. But Rumi had been dying for what felt like hours.
