Summary
Maomao is given as a concubine to the Moon Prince in an attempt to control Lakan. Jinshi is against the idea of trapping a young woman in the rear palace for her father’s poor attitude and tries his best to accommodate her as both the palace manager and as the Moon Prince. But as time drags on, he falls in love with his odd concubine and his double life poses many issues.
Maomao never expected to be part of palace life and finds it rather difficult to adapt to. That being said, she loves the new access to overflowing ingredients the palace offers, especially the extremely rare ones the Moon Prince has taken to giving her as presents. If only the meddlesome eunuch would leave her alone, he’s making things far too complicated for her liking.
(Mostly follows canon, but with Maomao as the Imperial Brother’s concubine)
