Summary
Tadashi's eyes bulged; it was in fact Tsukishima—and Hinata.
The website was so garish that he could barely keep up with everything he saw. Two pictures took up most of the page, with the beginnings of an article tucked beneath them, but the headline really stole Tadashi’s attention:
Ninja Shouyou Spotted at Gay Club; Slumming with D2’s Tsukishima Kei?
Tadashi blinked rapidly until disbelief gave way to a twitch in his cheek. An unbidden snort escaped and suddenly he was giggling uncontrollably. Tsukishima was going to be pissed.
When Tsukishima denies the rumors a little too successfully, the media pivots and Yamaguchi finds himself sharing the spotlight too. Tsukishima's apathy toward the new rumors leaves Yamaguchi with a new perspective on their friendship, and a confusing flutter in his chest.

Summary
Tadashi’s stomach growled as he pulled his right foot back to stretch his quad. He distantly wondered if Ennoshita would continue Sawamura’s tradition of buying them meat buns. “So Tsukki, do you want to be my date for the tournament next weekend?”
The leg that Tsukishima had been stretching hit the floor with a thunk. He stared at Tadashi. “Your what?”
Tadashi had meant it as a joke, but judging by the way Tsukishima’s cheeks washed pink and his eyebrows drew together in confusion, it hadn’t exactly been received that way. Shocked, Tadashi tried to backtrack. “I—I just meant—I was wondering if you wanted to go?”
Tsukishima and Yamaguchi are just friends. So why does Yamaguchi find Tsukishima's blush so intriguing? And why does Tsukishima find himself wanting to lean into Yamaguchi's warmth?

“Huh,” Tetsurou mused. "Tsukki did thank everyone didn’t he…” He turned conspiratorially toward Kozume. “Did you hear what else he said during the match?”
“…The thing about Yamaguchi?” Kozume asked warily.
“Yeah! ‘He’s always been one step ahead of me after all,’” Tetsurou repeated, attempting to mimic Tsukishima’s usual drawl. “I think our little Tsukki has a crush!”
“Kuro,” Kozume sighed heavily. “That’s hardly evidence of anything.”
“Oh, come on, is that not some of the gayest shit you’ve ever heard?” Tetsurou argued. “And even if I’m wrong it’ll be perfect to mess with him!”
While waiting for the quarter finals of Nationals to start, Kuroo tries to use Yamaguchi to mess with Tsukishima, Yamaguchi's brain short circuits, and Tsukishima continues to play it cool.

Summary
July 2012
Everyone was working so hard.
It was to be expected of the volleyball freaks who never stopped to think about anything else. But then there was Yamaguchi, who was purposely risking all this effort just for a chance at proving something to himself.
It was an equation Kei couldn’t solve. And both Bokuto and Yamaguchi’s solutions were just as frustrating as the problem itself.
Moments and pride. Tch.
The concepts twisted and turned in Kei's mind. No matter what angle he looked at them from, he couldn’t quite get it to form into something meaningful. Something worth trying for.
But the passion in Yamaguchi’s eyes had been so captivating, so convincing. There had to be something that Kei was missing.
A non-linear, slice-of-life look at Tsukishima’s journey through canon that focuses on volleyball, growing up, and learning that it's okay to love and to want, despite being afraid.

Summary
Tadashi ran his hands over his forearms. “I am a little cold, but I’ll be alright. My jacket is in the trunk anyway.”
“Maybe Yacchan has something!” Hinata perked up, whipping his head around toward the front of the bus – apparently unaware that his volume had caused everyone else around him to wince. “Yachi-san! Do you have any warming stuff in – “
A small, bundled weight of fabric pressed into Tadashi’s sternum, pulling his attention away from Hinata’s voice. “Here,” Tsukishima said simply.
Tadashi blinked, his fingers curling around the old hoodie instinctually before understanding. “Thanks, Tsukki.”
“Mm,” Tsukishima gave a half-nod and faced where Hinata was still yelling up to a very flustered Yachi. “Oi. Yamaguchi is warm now. Shut up so the rest of us can sleep.”
On the bus ride home from camp, Tsukishima falls asleep and Yamaguchi has a realization.
