Engie was the next to ask a question, suddenly snapping his fingers with a smile and called out, “I got a good one! How’d y’all meet?”
“On a Job.”
“Met on a Job.”
Scout turned his head to wink back at his partner and the corner of Sniper’s mouth twitched upwards in an almost smile as they both answered at the same time.
“Oh…” Engie sounded slightly dejected but quickly recovered with a massive smile. “But y’all hit it off, right?”
Sniper couldn’t stop the snort that came out of him at the same time Scout brought a hand up to rub nervously at the back of his neck. “Uh, funny you should say that…not exactly. The target was in a bar- It was dark an’ crowded an’…”
The shorter man coughed and trailed off, suddenly finding his shoes to be the most interesting thing in the world.
“He broke m’nose and I gave him a blowie in the back alley.”
