There’s a spark of a challenge in Jeon’s eyes, a hint of amusement rather than vitriol or mockery. It makes Taehyung cock his head to the side, makes him aware of the pulse he can feel under the palm of his left hand.

Taehyung knew that being a sire meant taking on some responsibilities. Vampires have extremely strict rules when it comes to turning people and taking care of those you have turned, and Taehyung never thought about escaping them.
What the rules didn’t prepare him for was the fact that taking an enthusiastic newly-turned fledgling under his wing was similar to taking care of an overeager golden retriever.

“Stupid,” is the immediate response, and Jeongguk has to duck when the bard throws one of the pillows at him.
or: Taehyung thinks Jeongguk's witcher armour would look great on him. Jeongguk desperately tries to act like he's tired of the bard's nonsense but honestly, he's too enamoured to trick anyone.

Jeongguk is paid to kill the royal heir. Too bad Taehyung isn't that keen on dying.
Or: some people want the royal heir, the future king, gone. Jeongguk is an assassin sent to do what he does best: plunge his blade in someone's heart, end their miserable life, and get a hefty amount of gold in exchange.
It doesn't go as planned.
