Summary
Zuko and Katara are expecting their first child and couldn't be more excited. Except, oops, being short a parent when you're growing up really does mess with a person's perception of what it means to raise a baby, and what if they mess this one up?
Zuko thinks Katara has it all together, Katara knows Zuko doesn't have it together at all, so she does her best to pretend she does, and all of their friends can see that neither of them has a clue what’s going on. Shenanigans ensue.

Summary
She hadn’t asked for his surname. Hadn’t left hers. Because it was never meant to be more. That weekend was a beautiful thing. Meant to be intense, fleeting, unforgettable. She wasn’t interested in long-distance. She had plans. Ambition. Dreams bigger than any man, even one as maddeningly good as Richter.
She never thought she’d see him again. So she did not bother.
And then, weeks later, she missed a period.
—
At 22, Annette spent a passionate weekend in Paris with a man she’d met named Richter. Six years later, she returns to the city to start a new chapter, but this time with a daughter Richter doesn’t know exists.

Summary
It was Richter's duty to make more Belmonts—stronger Belmonts. His family was quite involved in the process of doing that. He would be marrying, but not for love or anything ridiculous like that.
Which was the crux of his current problem.
Richter is nineteen when he’s told he will marry in less than a month.
Simon breaks the news to him as though he is telling him about the weather.
——
“And now you’re telling me that I have to—,” Annette's breath catches, “That I’m going to be forced to—” she couldn’t even say it. “I did all of this so that I could be free, Cécile.”After all, black or white, women were never truly free, were they? Not fully, anyway.
“Oh, Chéri,” Cécile’s eyes are filled with sympathy, “You mustn’t think of it that way.”
“How else am I supposed to think of it, then?” Annette hisses, “You’re going to marry me off to some white man I don’t even know. A French man, right?” She scoffs, disgusted. “Those people were the ones who enslaved us to begin with!”
“Annette,” Cécile shakes her head, “How do you think freedom is maintained?”
——Annette, Richter, and a marriage of convenience.
