“I’m starting to think you actually are fucking stupid,” Mapicc fixes him with a glare thats half threatening, half amused and Zam can’t help but feel frozen in place, as if Mapicc would tear through his neck the second he even flinched. “Couldn’t even think to change out of those dramatic ass heels before you decided to run away?”
Zam actually feels a bit of anger start to overtake the fear at that statement, not a lot, but enough for him to blurt out, “You have an issue with my heels of all things?!”

But now, as he lugs his personal luggage up the grand staircase leading up to the resplendent palace, Sharpness feels like he failed himself. A crumpled piece of paper lies in his palms: it’s a letter penned from the king’s advisor, inviting him to the palace to formally become the 2nd prince’s personal guard per king’s order.
