Ten years after the war against the giants and Gaea everything is perfect and normal, there's no more monsters to fight, there's no more trouble for them to deal with. That's all for the younger Demigods to deal with. Instead, Jason and Leo need to deal with more domestic problems, specifically an unplanned pregnancy and Leo's lack of communicating when something is bothering him.

Leo’s thoughts screeched to a halt. Jason. The Underworld.
Oh, gods. Wait a minute, wait a minute—
The myth came rushing back to him, bringing on a thrum of adrenaline. He jolted up, his heart banging in his skull.
This was stupid. He was being stupid, and this was nothing but a desperate grasp at hope. He hadn’t worked through his grief yet, and he was still bargaining. There was no way he could do it, no way this could even formulate into a plan.
Even so, his mind whirred, trying to fit nonexistent puzzle pieces together.
