“Hey Jax..” Pomni starts to call out quietly but upon seeing the back of his shoulders tense further she pauses.
Are you okay? She wants to ask.
But her gut tells her that that might not be the best approach with Jax yet. The memory of him hunched over the buttons console in despair, raw and full of hurt comes unbidden.
“...What is this place?” She asks instead, relieved to see that his shoulders slightly sagged down as if in relief.
Jax cracked one eye open and glanced lazily toward the far wall.
“No idea,” he said. “Just another one of those rooms.”

Jax just couldn’t help but make a mess out of himself and his attraction to Pomni in this universe too, huh?

He roughly wiped the grit off his face, revealing an even more boyish grin taking shape. His foot thumped hard into the ground as a bolt of wild energy thundered through him, and then through the entire ring. The crowd rose in electric flames of excitement, and even the main cast began to fully pay attention. That was the sign of the bold trademark of the reigning champion they’d come to know, and expect.
“I like that grin on your face, dude,” Evil Pomni flexed her own nimble digits, her clawed white gloves adjusting, “Now I gotta wonder what kind of face you’d make when I tear your little body up, pretty boy.” She sneered, taking an eager step, “I can tell you’re pretty into this now. Give me the best you’ve got!”
Jax chuckled, his head hanging low in amusement. He wasn’t nearly as intimidated by this version of Pomni in comparison to the real one. She was way way easier to read. So, he bounced lightly on his feet, giving her a slicing kick off-guard.
With that, the match commenced.
