Sometimes Alex would wake up early in the morning, when the sun was just peeking through the curtains and shining through onto the bed and stare at the man in his bed, fast asleep. It still surprised Alex to wake up to this, and shocked him that he was comfortable and in love and happy.
When Henry Fox had fallen into Alex’s life completely unexpectedly five years ago, he never would have guessed that they would be here, sharing an apartment, a bed, a life. Yet here they were, Henry hogging the covers on the right side, and Alex freezing his butt off on the left.
Pieces of Henry were strewn across their bedroom floor, which was a mess and Alex needed to sit some time aside to clean it properly, and their dog David was curled up in his bed by the window. Alex exhaled deeply and turned his head back to Henry, who was still very much asleep on his side of the bed.
Fuck, Alex was so in love with his man.

Well, Steve is twenty fucking five. Steve is hashtag hip and cool and how actually, in the ever living fuck, does he think that the things that Alex thinks won’t get him landed in prison.
And Alex is 40, well actually 41 turning 42 in March, and Alex cannot think of anything worse than having a social media presence.
Let him live ! Let him have his time away from writing and touring and writing and touring just to cook and lie in bed and watch the housewives of orange county, or the kardashians, or- he’s recently discovered YouTube- commentary videos on how the world is about to end because of how much we’ve destroyed it, or how to bleach your hair without it all falling out, or- he desperately despises this one- how to knit.
Because now he sits in bed, losing patience, as he knits things that he will never use.
Or Alex is a 41 year old comedian who realises he has been in love with Henry since they were kids.
