Sirius was the worst of them though, he couldn’t even look at Regulus. They hadn’t spoken a word since they’d come home, at least at Hogwarts it could be excused by their different years and different houses, even if Sirius had always found time before he had exams now, his school life must be too stressful to find time for his little brother. Every room Regulus entered Sirius left, they hadn’t shared meals together, the only hint of him Regulus had had was the screaming fights in the study between Sirius and their mother or the whispers he could hear through the door to Sirius’s room as he passed it on the way to bed.

Summary
The heat was oppressive, the haze resting heavy in the air. He could only imagine the agony Regulus must be in, baking in the sun all day with the weight of two or three normal people in fat insulating him. The tub of half-melted ice cream, held by a footman to messy lips, must be heaven. When the final dregs of it run down his chins he reaches a pudgy hand out to grip the footman’s hand in place – desperate to lick up any last drops coating the bowl.
