Summary
"How do you tell the truth when you've spent your whole life perfecting a lie?"
Steve Harrington and Jonathan Byers were inseparable until the summer of 2020. One afternoon of panic and a few cruel words turned a lifelong love into a cold, public distance. For five years, they lived as strangers in the same town, watching each other's lives through windows and screens, waiting for a closure that never came.
But when Steve sees Mike Wheeler heading down the same path of regret, he can't stay silent. He gives Mike the advice he wishes he'd taken himself-borrowing words that have haunted him since he was fifteen-unknowingly bridging the gap back to the one person he never truly left behind.
Now, Jonathan is at his door, and the silence is finally over. In this modern adaptation, The Hidden History is a story of growing up, letting go, and a love that was never forgotten.

Summary
There was a brief pause where Jonathan glanced at Steve and saw his own relief mirrored back at him.
“Ok,” Steve said, “Don’t leave the radius again though- stay in contact. You made sure these things are charged right?”
Another pause, and then-
“Sure did, mom. Over.”
Steve rolled his eyes and glanced at Jonathan.
“Little shit.” Then he replied. “Don’t do anything stupid, either, man. We’re fine here.”
“Copy. Over.”

Summary
The end of Jonathan Byers’ life started as a dream.
That’s what he thought it was, anyway, when he opened his eyes to nothing but a vast world of darkness. He sat up in alarm. Keeping quiet, Jonathan searched around him, taking hesitant steps forward. It felt like he wasn’t even moving. There was so much around him, but also…absolutely nothing at all. His feet hit the ground but nothing around him changed.
He was stuck, he realized as his heart sped up. Imprisoned.
He didn’t want to believe it, but almost immediately, there was one undeniable truth on Jonathan’s mind, screaming at him to finally realize what was happening

Summary
"It was all Steve could do to keep up appearances. Being Captain of the Swim team and a key player on the Basketball court while barely keeping his grades up was what kept Daniel Harrington off of his back. Steve wasn't sure when popularity contests and notoriety became important to his father, or when he started expecting the same things from Steve. Reputation was everything, especially in a lacking town like Hawkins, Indiana. Steve's reputation, in fact, was the only thing that ensured his inheritance and potential job opportunities paved by his father. A guaranteed future only sounded so great before Daniel Harrington yelled at him for being still being friends with Jonathan Byers."
or, Stranger Things if Steve and Jonathan had been dating since before the events Season 1, and the fallout when Will goes missing.
