Summary
CW for body horror, repeat injuries, loss of control over oneself and overall just canon typical violence / time accurate fuckery. In the same breath, CW for William being mentally unwell AND slight canon compliance because canon is a suggestion.
When a man is shot and left for dead, and he is still able to move - he has nothing to lose, save for his sense of self and control over his own body. When a woman sees her husband slowly turn into a monster, she's overcome with grief. And when a rookie cop decides to stick his nose in where it shouldn't, maybe he shouldn't be so surprised that there's a lot more moral greyness involved in such a situation like this.
Alt title - character study of William Birkin as he slowly turns into G1, and how everyone involved in RE2 responds to situations. Multiple chapters are yet to be involved.

Summary
It was supposed to be an easy assignment. Check out rumors regarding the President's abducted daughter in a small rural village in Spain. If they were true, infiltrate and extract. Easy.
But things are never easy when bio-weapons are involved, and Leon gets far more than he bargained for when he winds up infected as well.
Saving Ashley Graham is going to require him to pay the ultimate cost.Basically, the plot of RE4R but with Leon slowly mutating into a bug monster.
I'll be messing with some events to fit the altered plot.Note: I locked this fic along with most of my current ones due to Ao3 getting scraped repeatedly by bots for use in generative AI. It's something that I hate doing because I know a lot of traffic can come from users who do not have Ao3 accounts.
