The expression he's giving the camera is tender, his pretty eyes full of fondness and framed by loose red bangs, with a small amused smile on his lips. The hand Bakugo used to manhandle his head into position has no right looking that gentle; his hands were never meant for gentleness to begin with, but to see his holding Kirishima's cheek like that... To see the way Kirishima is looking at him...

Summary
Low self-esteem wasn't something Eijirou Kirishima liked to admit to having. It wasn't manly. It wasn't strong. It certainly wasn't heroic, but after struggling with his crippling self-doubt for a lifetime things finally seem to be turning around when he's accepted into UA, a miracle he refuses to give himself credit for.
Katuski Bakugou refuses to allow himself to be weak enough to show his own low self-image. His frantic drive to be the best - and the only best - is manic and self destructive, so when he gets into UA and is anything but the top student he finds his explosive attitude worse than normal.
Somehow, when these two boys met - drawn together as though by forces outside of the realm of the natural - they both seem to find themselves healing from their own damage.

Almost half an hour has passed, and Kirishima and Bakugou still haven’t come back. Bakugou may be fine running on fumes, and could probably blast his way through the second part of the exam on pure willpower and stubbornness. But Kirishima should probably eat, and relax for at least a bit.

It’s at that moment that Bakugou realizes something is very, very wrong. He glances down at himself and sees scars he’s never had before along his arms, little nicks and scratches he’d never have been oblivious to. When he reaches up, his limbs feel longer, and as he staggers to his feet he stands several centimeters taller than he had, last thing he knew. He glances at the mirror, catches sight of his reflection, and screams.
