Summary
Clarke Griffin was sitting in the large wooden windowsill of her apartment looking out at the snow. The window was big, she could see the whole of Chicago from here, and it was beautiful. There were very little people outside, because of the cold Chicago air, but she could see families playing games and decorating Christmas trees with hot chocolate, through their windows.
The images weighed hard on her heart, she wanted to suppress this lonely feeling, but his face kept creeping into her mind. She dismissed the thought immediately. You are happy here, you have a great job at the hospital, you have friends and you have Madi.

Summary
What's it like to fall in love with your best friend? What's it like to see them be with someone else? What's it like to push down everything you ever felt for them and watch them get hurt repeatedly by someone else? What's it like to lie your heart out on a plate for them and receive it torn to shreds as they run away and marry someone else?
They were best friends instantly, it was clear to everyone they should've been something more. It became apparent to the both of them but the timing was shit and then it was too late, too many people would be hurt. So Bellamy and Clarke remain friends, because that's what they're good at. Until being around each other was too painful and they left one another without even saying goodbye.
Six years later, a lot has changed and maybe just maybe, the time is right.

Summary
Somehow, they always end up back here.
But this time is different. Almost as if they needed to be here, on the doorstep of their home, the memories of their life together strewn above them like stars in the night sky.
She remembers how they once burned brightly.
“I gave you everything I had, Clarke. I know it wasn’t much, but,” he shrugs a bit helplessly as if to cover up the wet sheen in his eyes. “I loved you. And that wasn’t enough.”

Their story isn’t over. Six years after their break-up, Clarke comes home.

Summary
Strangely enough, though, it is one of the things she notices about him first when he walks into her Ancient Civilizations class.
Oh, she thinks dumbly to herself at the flex of his muscles under the thin material of his shirt, the unruly curls that keeps falling into his eyes. That blindingly white smile. Oh.
Or: Clarke develops feelings for her History professor.
