    San finally turned, staring at him. His voice came out low, rough from holding it in. “Why wasn’t I in your top three?”

    Yeosang froze for a beat, then let out a soft, incredulous laugh. “You’re serious?”

    “I’m serious.”

    San didn’t blink, didn’t look away.

    Yeosang shifted his weight, crossing his arms loosely over his chest, the little curve at his lips hiding the way guilt started creeping in. “I couldn’t say you.”

    “Why not?” San’s brow furrowed, a crease digging deep between his eyes. “Why couldn’t you?”

    “Because if I did, I wouldn’t have been able to keep a straight face,” Yeosang admitted, voice even but thinner than usual. “I’d just blush like an idiot the entire time, and everyone would know.”
