    When Izuku found his room again, he could hear music behind the door- loud, with lots of screaming and guitars. His heart sunk a little, but he tried not to pass judgement too quickly. The guy inside was alone right now, after all. He’d probably use headphones once he met his new roommate, right? Izuku took a deep breath and twisted the doorknob, pushing it open as casually as he could to hide his nerves. He thought about the greeting he'd rehearsed in the mirror earlier today.

    “Hey! I didn’t see you here earlier! It's nice to meet you, I’m--” Izuku froze in the doorway, the other man in the room mirroring him. He was holding up a sweater, clearly in the middle of putting it on a hanger when Izuku had barged in. Izuku had been preparing for a lot of possibilities behind the door, but this was not on his list.

    Blond, spiky hair, and eyes like fire with a temperament to match. Katsuki Bakugou, undoubtedly.

    So Katsuki is picking up where he left off by extending his hand to Deku in an offer to rekindle their friendship, if that’s what Deku wants. Of course, Deku very much wants that, but the degree which Deku wants Katsuki in his life comes as a bigger surprise to Katsuki than anyone thought it would.

    He hesitates, mouth forming words that trail off before they can make a sound. He stares into soft, beautiful eyes and lets himself get lost in them. He takes in the sunkissed flush on smooth cheeks. The sharp jawline that he wants to trace with gentle fingers. The plush, kissable lips. A slick tongue darts out, wetting those lips deliciously, and it takes all of Izuku’s self control to keep from crumbling right here and now.

    “And?” Katsuki prompts.

    “...And…I think I’m in love with you.”

    After a quirk accident leaves Izuku with no memories for a week he has to relearn who he is, who his friends are and most importantly, why he can't help but love the mean looking blond boy with all his heart.

    “You love Dynamight,” Kota said.

    Izuku let out a long-suffering exhale. “I beg your pardon?”

    “You forgot Hero Dynamight over your girlfriend,” Kota continued. “That means that he’s… he’s the love of your life.”

    Kota’s cheeks reddened like he was embarrassed about what he had just said. Izuku stared at him. He didn’t know a Hero Dynamight. But there were a lot of heroes he didn’t know. The world was a big place, after all.

    “You grew up together,” Kota barrelled on. “You tell us all the time how the two of you are friends. He guest lectures here sometimes. You… you don’t know who I’m talking about?”

    Izuku swallowed hard as he looked at Kota’s face. If this were any other student, he wouldn’t believe it. But Kota wasn’t the type to joke or kid around, especially not with something of this magnitude.

    Izuku accidentally gets hit with one of his students' quirks and temporarily forgets the love of his life - who is not, as it turns out, his current girlfriend.
